An A1c (HbA1c) test is a blood test. The test measures your average blood sugar level over the past three months. It is used to screen people for prediabetes and diabetes. Your care provider may do an A1c test to make decisions about treatment. It’s important to get tested every three to six months depending on your doctor’s treatment plan. Be sure to keep your A1c updated in your health profile so the information can be used to personalize your program experience.
