Completing a mental health assessment before your therapy or psychiatry visit is an important part of your overall care. This assessment gives your mental health provider the most up-to-date information on how you’ve been doing lately, which allows them to provide the best care for your needs. You’ll be asked to re-take the assessment every 30 days. This will help your therapist get a better understanding of your progress and make sure you have the right treatment plan. The assessment also empowers your provider to intervene with extra support during the session if you’re experiencing a crisis.
How do I complete the pre-visit assessment?
The assessment will be available 30 minutes before your visit. There are a few ways to find it:
- You’ll get a message with a link to the assessment in the message center
- The pre-visit assessment button will appear on your upcoming visit card on your home page
- If you haven’t completed it 10 minutes before your visit, you’ll receive an email and a text message reminder with a link to the assessment
What happens if I don’t finish it before my visit?
When you try to join your visit, you’ll be taken to the assessment instead. Once you complete the assessment, you’ll continue on to the video waiting room.
For phone visits, your therapist will call you at the scheduled visit time and will ask you to complete the assessment at the start of the call.
